Built in 1792, Slate Hill Old School Baptist Church is the oldest extant church in the area.  It is well preserved, without modern upgrades such as electricity or plumbing.  The last major change to the building was in 1828 when the steeple tower was added! Up until the 1930's, the church had members, some of which are buried in a small cemetery behind the church.

For the last 100 years local community members and historic-based organizations have recognized the church's historic value and helped care for this building and site.
